Hi all,
I'm hoping someone can help me choose between two DVD Recorders? I'm trying to figure out which one is the best and I don't have much time. I'm off to Walmart right now to grab the last one of Philips DVDR3575H. They told me they would hold it for an hour. I also see online that there is a Magnavox 160gb HD DVD Recorder, couldn't find the model number.
I see there is alot of info on here about the Philips, I don't know about the Magnavox, if it's the same one on here or not.
So please if someone can tell me the best between the two, I'd really appreciate it?
I'm calling my Sister back in an hour to see if they've been any reply's. So please
any input would really help.
Thanks so much.

Wajo's sticky thread explains both models.

I don't think they're exactly the same but they're pretty darn close.

If you sub. to basic or ext. basic (analog) cable, esp. Comcast, the 3575 might have a problem maintaining tuning on the digital channels. If on true digital cable, anrtenna or satellite, no problem.

The 2160A now sold by WM online is quite a bit better, but it's been released for 2009, after a very successful original 2160, with NEW FW that prevents Finalizing DVDs after recording if there are any timer rec programs set. A FW update *should* be in the works.

Click #1 in my signature for lots of info and a note on the 2160A.
