Now that I have my projector up, when its on...I can see how much dust is floating around in my basement (its a lot). Its upsetting as I think that is what I am breathing in! :eek:

I dont know if this is still from my project (drywall dust) that keeps getting moved around or if this is just common.

In any case, what can I do to get rid of this dust or at least minimize it to acceptable levels?
- air filter?
- box fan with cheap furnace filter taped to the back?
- any other suggestions?

That is by far the easiest way. That and vacuum everything a few times.

How long has it been..?..since your project has been done I mean.

I just finished re-working my HVAC and spent more time cleaning out the duct work then I did tearing it down and re-installing it. My home is fairly new, and the ducting interior was covered in drywall dust. I would think that after a short time the dust would settle, if it were just localized to that room. Maybe you have sucked some crap into your HVAC during construction, and it keeps blowing dust into your space.

Just something to consider.

I would also possibly look into cleaning your carpet. I am sure it doesn't look dirty but it's often a main source of air-born particles as it traps everything and releases it when you walk.
