I am looking for opinions on a Blue Ray burner and/or player. Is it better to get a burner for a computer and a separate player for the TV? And which ones are best for the buck?

There are no stand-alone BD DVD recorders currently available in the US. BD burners are available for your PC. This is the wrong forum for that sort of advice. perhaps the HTPC forum has threads about that.

As to the best BD player, again, that sort of discussion in in the BD player forum. I can tell you that Oppo has begun releasing their long-awaited BD player. At $499, many consider it far and away the best for the money. There is a thread about it in that forum. Check the first post for lots of info on the player.
