View Full Version : Free 34XBR-910 Stand (SU-34XBR1)
rsmithrls 06-06-09, 05:48 PM I have a perfect condition stand for a 34XBR910 (SU-34XBR1), in Valdosta Georgia, free for anyone who wants it. If no takers in the next few days it goes in the trash smasher. I know these are hard to find so I hate to throw it in the crusher... Not sure if it will work with other Sony models.
POWERFUL 06-07-09, 01:16 AM Should work for the 960 as well I'd take it off your hands if I still had one.
RalphArch 06-07-09, 10:41 AM if you don't get someone wanting to pick up locally ....
I'd be willing to pay reasonable shipping / packing costs if you are willing to take apart stand and box up. Would be a shame to trash it. Maybe if could be freighted as-is?
It looks like RalphArch beat me to it but if for whatever reason you cannot find someone to take it off your hands and RalphArch decides he is not interested I would be interested in having it shipped at my expense of coarse.
rsmithrls 06-09-09, 11:51 AM Well, no local interest... I can take it apart no problem and will try to find an appropriate size box. I see RalphArch is in Maryland. Where are you amazin? Please let me know if you guys are still interested. Ralph gets first option... We can make transportation arrangements on PM.
I sent you a PM with my location. Like I said if Ralph does not want it for whatever reason I will surely take it and, of coarse, I will pay the shipping cost.

I am still interested and PM'd you the details. Thanks for volunteering effort to take stand apart and ship. Seems better for the environment than loading up a landfill and one of us will be getting a better looking stand
On that topic - don't obsess too much on me being first. If there are other reasons such as greater need or whatever feel free to give it to amazin

Well Ralph, that is a nice gesture. As I told rsmithrls I have both the 34XBR960 and the 34XBR970 but I only have one "official" Sony stand and at this point they are really hard to find. The other TV stand is all wood and bows slightly in the middle even though it supposedly supported 260 lbs. I would love to track down another official stand for these particular tv sets hence my interest in this one. However, you were the first to reply and obviously it is only fair for you to get first dibbs but again I would be more than happy to take it if you do not have an immediate need for it. Thanks.
RalphArch 06-09-09, 09:22 PM Sounds like our needs are similar. I also have the official matching stand for my kd36xs955 and really would like to have the matching stand for my xbr960 so I guess I will stay first in linefor shipping option
Greater Malison 06-10-09, 04:26 AM Hi guys Im glad I found this thread, not trying to get in on the free stand but I will be purchasing an xbr960 later today and I see a couple of stands on ebay for smaller models most noticeably the SU-30XBR1 it says it supports up to 180 lbs but as im sure you all know the 960 is 190+ do you think I will still be ok, the base certainly looks wide enough. Any other opinions would be greatly appreciated, as most of the other posters here Id really like the custom stand for the 960 but I wouldnt even begin to know where to start looking.

A 960 won't fit on such a stand - don't even think about it (there are pegholes in the bottom of a 960 that go into posts on the correct stand. You can't use a stand for a 30 inch set

Thanks so much for giving me your set and all the work in taking it apart and shipping it to me.
It came by UPS yesterday well packed with no damage. Assembled tonight and all is fine. Thanks again for your effort and letting me have the matching set
