If this isn't the correct forum, I apologize!

My LG GSA-H22L DVD burner on my PC does not read these discs. How long has this version been out? I looked for updated firmware but the last revision was in 2007.

Any ideas?

DVD-R Version 2.1 was introduced in September 2004. The optional specification added revisions 5.0 and 6.0 for 12x and 16x DVD-R recording speeds.

If your burner won't read disks, it's either because the burner doesn't like the brand or it was a bad burn in the first place. Even though my Samsung drive supports 16x DVD-R burning as do the blank DVD-R's used, I always write at 8x. Whenever I try to burn at 16x the drive vibrates a lot and the speed may shift down to 8x anyway. So it's best to just burn at the slower speed and wait longer.

These disks are brand new and unused. It must be the Sony brand. I have burned +R's just fine so might just get those.

Try Verbatim, -R or +R. Or, order Taiyo Yuden 8x on line.
