Hello,

what lenses can I use for replacing the HD-215 lenses on my projector? If there is an alternative, please also mention if there is a change in the throw distance.

Best regards from Munich

Zenith Pro 1200?

I think you can use HD-214's....from memory.

But they won't be any different I fear.

You really, really need a set of HD-18's from a G70/XG LC. But you'll need a set of C elements to match, as the depth of the dome shape is different to the short throw C elements.

Thanks,

but I fear changing the C-Element, because I dont know if I am able to do that. How hard is it to do that.

...it uses the Sony 07msu tubes. It was an RVP 4010 rearprojector with weired lenses which I changed to frontprojection....

Best regards

It's dead easy.

Either pull the tubes and put them in a simple jig facing straight up. Then swap the C elements over. No need to drain the tubes, just be careful.

Or point the projector straight up and do the swap with the tubes still in the projector.

The HARD bit would be finding HD-18 lenses and matching C elements. It may be easier just to buy a G70 or XG-LC and use that...

Thanks for the fast reply!
I like that it is not needed to pull the tubes out!!! I can work good and precise, as long as it is mechanical work. But I am a noob on electrics, and I fear the risks of a shock.

But how is the C Element removed? Is is glued on the tube?

What is the diameter of G-70 C-Elements? My ones on the 07msu tubes have about (estimated) 11cm (4.3 inchs).

I own HD-117-24 lenses. I would only need to trace some of their C-Elements and check for their size. I heard they are not loved by HT users, because there are no colored C-Elements.

Thanks a lot!

Usually the C elements are held on by a plate with screws.

On Marquees they are glued/end up stuck to the bellows. Marquees are strange.
