Well, Sunday night really, but nevermind. Last night I was busy editing away at commercials in stuff I want to keep, when my wife walks into the den with a disk on her finger and a grin on her face. It doesn't work anymore, she tells me. It was one o fthe very first DVDs I ever made with my E85 many years ago. She claims she has watched it several times, but now she gets a "bad disk" error. So I put it in a stand-alone DVD player I had handy, and it says "BAD DISK" too. Hmm...:( I look, and this is a RITEK disk, not a T-Y like I use exclusively. I used Ritek disks for a few months only, so yeah, it's old. I tried a second DVD player. Same result.:( I then. on a whim, put it in my EH55 and pressed play. She works fine. Hmmm... again. :confused: I press eject, and...

A big warning screen comes up saying the disk isn't fianlized. Huh? :eek: She says she has watched it before, and then it hits me. She has watched it in the living room, using one of my recorders to play it. Recorders can play unfianlized disks. So, I finalize the thing and guess what, it plays fine everywhere.:p That disk had been unfinalized for years, and played several times in that condition. It now is finalized and works just fine. PLAYERS vs. RECORDERS. I am STILL amused by this.:D
