My Panasonic EH55s' TVGOS won't pickup some new channels that have been in existence for at least the past 8 months or longer. I did a complete reset of the entire setup process and it still does not add the new channels. Is there a way I can add these channels to the TVGOS manually?

Go into the TVGOS menu and enter the "channel editor" list, then go all the way through and see if they're in there (if they're not, then they're just not. In that case, you could try contacting Macrovision and see if they can get them added).
If any are in there, you'll have to enter in the appropriate channel numbers and turn them "on". The info should start filling in within a day or two.

Is this going to work at all in three or four days? Maybe I'm not in touch since I don't use or need the TVGOS, but I thought when it all went digital, the data would cease.

CBS stations are the designated transmitters of the TVGOS-though some PBS stations are still sending out the data, and depending on the stations involved and the cable system, the guide data should continue to flow...mine has been up for nearly 3 months without a problem.
Ask me again in 3 days....;)

It depends.
If you're feeding a recorder like the Panasonic EH55 with an OTA antenna, what happens to TVGOS on Friday is overshadowed by what happens to your video. The solution here is to use a Dish DTVPal+ DVR which not only converts digital OTA broadcasts to analog, it also converts TVGOS data from a digital host channel to a format that can be used by an analog-only device like the EH55. I think I've seen some reports from people who are doing this successfully.
If you're feeding the recorder with a cable TV connection, you're at the mercy of your cable provider. If they've installed equipment that picks up TVGOS data from a digital host channel and inserts it into one of their remaining analog channels, you're safe. Your host channel may change in the process, which may cause a hiccup in your listings, but resetting TVGOS in your recorder so it looks for a new host channel should fix that.

It depends on which area you're in. My impression is that in many or most larger cities, the CBS stations have indeed started carrying TVGOS on their digital channels at least. However, in many smaller cities, the CBS stations have declined to do so, and Macrovision has had to sign up other stations to do the job. For example, in and near South Carolina, as far as I know, the only CBS stations that carry digital TVGOS are in Columbia and in Augusta GA. Therefore, Macrovision has contracted with South Carolina ETV (PBS) to carry TVGOS on their digital stations, as they did previously on their analog stations.
In Charlotte NC, the digital TVGOS host is not the CBS station, but a locally-owned PBS station which has a much smaller coverage area.

On a more sarcastic note, I was expecting that cable companies who wanted to rent you their DVRs would probably not pass along the TVGOS signal as it would be free competition to one of their evenue streams. I assume that they can choose not to carry the TVGOS information. From the point of view of a cable company, there is no incentive to carry it.
