In the various threads about acoustical caulk, people mention they're getting prices < $4 for OSI caulk - the cheapest I could find locally was something closer to $10. Can someone point me to a decent source of acoustical caulk/sealant in NJ .. online would also be ok if the shipping isnt too much. I'll need about 4-5 tubes I think (about 70 feet to cover with a gap betwen 1/4 to 1/2 inch). If any of you have any leftover stuff, i'd be happy to buy it from you.

Look in the yellow pages for building suppliers specializing in drywall and metal framing products. They typically carry it.

I got mine from a local drywall supplier (in Northern VA) for about $4.00 a 29oz tube. Like Biggy said, check the local drywall suppliers.

I seem to remember several recommendations that ANY 50 year caulk provided the same bang for less buck. And is available most everywhere.

Yea, Tom. You are right. I'd still recommend looking for the real stuff at the drywall supply shop. They have a 29oz tube for only 4 bucks. Try getting 50 year caulk for that price.

I recently found some of the big tubes of the OSI brand acoustical sealant for less than 3 bucks a tube at a drywall supplier.

before you ask Kamco. They are regional and are in New Jersey.

I mail ordered mine from Toolup. I posted that somewhere as a "lesson learned." I paid as much to ship it as I did for the product itself. Definitely find it locally.
