Hello, have a two year old Sony, kdf-46e2000, first problem today, the unit turned off on its own and the green power led started blinking continuously, reset the unit same issue occurred this time after about 2 minutes of the power led started blinking continuously, the Lamp (red led) started blinking continuously, same behavior repeats now every time the unit is cycled. Called Sony got the expected "you need to have it looked at", Looking for advise, one more thing which i am hopping is just a coincident the weather outside was pretty bad heard thunder around the time this occurred, i had the TV on a regular power strip, it didn't trip when the TV started misbehaving. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Also just visually inspected the bulb, looks like new.

First step in solving is try new lamp (even tho looks ok). Your symptom (and two years of use) could be lamp.

Thanks, looking on ebay right now, any good and cheap vendors that are famous on this forum? If it is not the lamp what else could i be looking for with these symptoms?

Hi, I run a repair shop in Canada. I get my DLP lamps from rivervalleyelectronics in Minnesota. Best price that I could find and a quality lamp. hope it works out for you.:) Dillon, Trace Electronics.

I have the same problem - the picture shuts off on its own, the power light keeps blinking green and about 20-30 blinks after it brings picture back on, only to cycle through the same thing over and over. After calling SONY and receiving the same ole "call your local certified tech" treatment, I would appreciate any help/input. The symptoms give off a hint of a cooling problem, though the SONY rep over the phone told me it's not (he said the TV would recognize a problem with overheating and blink a specific code out) I don't want to purchase a new TV, and certainly don't want to pay half of a new TV's price just to repair this old one. Anyone with knowledge or experience in this situation?

This TV is also almost 2 years old, btw, my warranty expired a while back.

Just in case anyone ever bumps into this problem.. I've changed the cooling settings on the TV from Normal to High and the TV hasn't experienced the self-shut off since then.

Can anyone share with me the quality aspectws of this unit. I can get one used for $600. Is it worth it?

I am attaching a play station to it which can do 1080p and I see this unit only goes to 720p
