I have a Samsung HLM507W that I am getting the "Buzz Saw/High Pitch Wine" again.....the color wheel was replaced twice under extended warranty which has since run out. I can replace the wheel myself. My question is this:
Is it possible to replace it with BP96-00674A (which is the newer "Air Bearing" color wheel and housing-used in HLP,R,S sets/FAB Type) with BP96-00250A used in the older HLM,N/FDB Type)...I just dont want to have to replace the older color wheel again in a year or so by installing the older color wheel...and am hoping I can install the Newer Air Bearing Color Wheel which is quieter and lasts longer. I do know that if I use the Air Bearing type I should pull the jumper...and then reset the DI and CCA values...
My Other question is that I have read on posts that if I use the Air Bearing CW to enter the SM and reset the delay index and CCA values for the newer CW...I see the delay index in the SM but not the CCA area...can anyone help?

if what i think you are asking is changing the actual wheel itself but keepping the same housing.
they are physically different, it wont work.
different as in the size of the glass wheel and shaft.
the speed and synchronization is also different due to the size of the shaft.
