I have a 57" Mitsubishi DLP that I've had for a 2 years now, that I bought from Frys. I even got their ESP plan with it, to use with lamp replacement or whatever. Anyways, very rarely, I think only 2 or 3x since I've had it, sound has gone out. Turning the TV off and on hasn't resolved it, settings never changed by me, nor do they look changed on the TV. I end up having to unplug the TV from power totally..then plugging it back in, and turning it on to get the audio back. any ideas, such as, whether this is a problem I should have it looked at, ignore it, or what should I do?
Thanks!
Mike

Post full model # of Tv.
What are you using for a source-
internal tuner with antenna or cable signal?
external cable or sat box?
dvd/bluray player?
video game machine?
Test every inputs of Tv to see if happens on all inputs or just certain ones.

I use multiple sources. They are :
Nintendo Wii going into the composite rear input
DISH box going into HDMI
Media Extender going into HDMI
When the audio goes out, none of these sources have sound. I go into the audio settings, and see that audio is turned on for all the sources. I even tried resetting them there even though that changed nothing...must be on by default.
When I unplug the TV from power, and re plug...turn back on, all sound is back.

edit : I even tried plugging the Wii into the front of the TV, same result. no audio

Sounds like you should make use of your extended warranty and have someone out for repair.

ah damn :( I wonder if I can get the lamp replaced too...at the same time, since I think once they repair it once, the ESP is used up.
