So far I am using the optimum mode for all of my TV watching. One person in the HTPC forum said the Pioneer Kuro has an excellent scaler that will make DVDs look very good. I am wondering if I am missing out alot by just using the Optimum mode on the Kuro.

Also, if i want the TV to do the DVD upscaling, is there a special setting that I have to use? The TV is connected to my HTPC via HDMI.

If you want the most natural look then use PURE mode (what most people do who buy this set).

The Pioneer scales everything to 1080P so don't worry about it.
