What are your thoughts on these 2 models?
Which one to get?

I have a sound system, so the monitor is ok without speakers.

These kinds of things/questions are very subjective. You should view both sets in a store yourself and spend some time tweaking a few settings and make your own decision. Personally, I'd get the Pioneer, but then I own a Pro 111 and absolutely love it.

Can't find the Pioneer in any stores..just online. But seems to have nice reviews.

For me that would be a no brainer, the 500M to be sure.

The Pioneer would provide the best overall performance in blacks and settings, but Panasonic would be able to hold its own and provide a very nice picture for roughly the same cost. Like eKretz mentioned, it will boil down to preference.
