In my previous post I had asked about replacing my color wheel in my Samsung HLR5067. Got the part the other day and performed the surgery last night. It did take longer then I had thought because I took my time and did some cleaning. A few things I noticed while doing this repair... I noticed after pulling out the light engine there was a fingerprint on the projection lens. I did purchase the TV new and it has never been opened....Weird!! Also, when I got the color wheel out it did indeed shatter. The bearing also when spun by hand was very noisy. The hardest part was getting the new color wheel in without touching the wheel on the sides. I did a bunch of practice runs with the old colorwheel to get the best position to install, highly recommended. The other hardest part was pushing the power button for the first time after everything was put back together and plugged in. End result... works perfect!! Noticeably quite then before, and there were no adjustments needed as far as I can tell. I want to thank everyone here that has helped me with both the confidence that I needed to do this and for the links to instruction on how to replace the colorwheel. I'm sure I saved myself a lot of $ by doing this myself.
