Hey all, I went to BB today to purchase a G10, and the new price is $1500, which is what they said they sold me. Turns out, the one in the system was open box. I got a call and they said that they could sell me the open box for $200 less, or I could wait a couple of days and have a new one shipped from another store. What do you all think I should do? I'm pretty sure the open box is probably a return, but for what reason?

Go for the open box but give it a thorough check in the store first. It was probably just returned because the buyer changed their mind.

Yea, the guy said it still had the full warrenty, so if I get it home, and there is something wrong besides cosmetic, I should be able to exchange it right?

For me, it's not worth the risk to get a few hundred bucks off an already great price. I'd always be wondering where it's been before i had it, and what's the real reason that it was returned. I will only accept a virgin TV, and i want to be the one to break it in :D

Don't trust Best Buy. I'd wait for a new one. Seriously.

So ran down there to ask them about it and to see it, and the guy I talked to eariler said that it wasn't actully returned, but was the floor model. I inspected it since they had it running and didn't see any glaring defects. It makes me feel a little better that it was a floor model adn not a return. Now my only thought might be about IR, since BB runs the same demo loop pretty much all day.

I would purchase a brand new one. And forget about their price matching. It's a god damn scam.

How is it a scam?

I have gotten BB to price match other stores on many occasions when buying items, and I've also gone back to receive a refund when an item dropped in price 2 weeks after the purchase. I have never had any problem with BestBuy price matching, and consider it a valuable tool when comparison shopping.

I wouldn't buy an open box. BB is not particularly trustworthy.
