Has anyone done a comparison of the sammyb650 plasma compared to the panny v10? If so which one looks better? I keep reading the sammy has excellent pic and better color than the v10....

I think V10 will have better blacks by far at night, but in daytime Sammie may win. I don't think you can go wrong with either. I would actually recommend steppign down to Sammie B560 and push for a deal on it ($1700 for 58"). That's the best value.

This thread will go down hill quickly!
The problem is that comparisons in stores are not very helpful due to different feeds and high ambient light. For example, blacks are better on the Panny in a dark room, but look better on the Sammy in a well-lit store environment. So it depends on your viewing room conditions. I am also looking at Panny vs. Sammy, and concluded (for me) the Panny is the better plasma (with better customer support). And I have 2 Sammy's (CRT and DLP) in my home.

You can't go wrong with either, go with whatever you can get a better deal on. Of course most here would get into extensive nit-picking arguments over picture quality but the differences are incredibly minor. I went with the 650 (over the G10) mostly because I got a better deal on it and I like the aesthetics of the set more.

man, I'm stuck in the same boat. luckily I've got a few months to decide, waiting until black Friday 2009. 24p is important to me so the G10 is out of the question. I view blu-rays mostly at night, I'm sure most of us do. I'm leaning towards the Panny, due to their great track record. But, the Sammy does offer a better value. I need to get off the fence and decide.

Either one is good depending on your enviroment. I 'm looking at both of these and I leaning towards the V-10 since I play a lot video games I would want the better IR resistance panel. But that Sammy really has a great picture and I love the extensive picture controls.

so you guys see my problems. Im glad im not alone on this. I just read cnet revies of both tv's and man thye say the v10 has better blacks but less accurate colors, and the sammy b650 has better color accuracy but not as deep black. Wow what is a guy supposed to do. I wish someone would do a real comparsion like chris from cleveland plasma or D-Nice...come on guys you know thats what were all waiting on...lets get this show on the road...:D

...just FYI for everybody, i've been checking msrps, and it looks like the 50 inch version of the v10 is around the same price as the 50 inch b860, which is sammy's top of the line, and only a bit more than an inch thick...
