I read other posts on this topic, (I learned my TV is not defective :))but would like to know if anyone has experienced the problem with a Panasonic TCP-42G10; and if there is a best setting to eliminate the problem.

Many thanks.

I read other posts on this topic, (I learned my TV is not defective :)) but would like to know if anyone has experienced the problem with a Panasonic TCP-42G10; and if there is a best setting to eliminate the problem. If it's that pesky data strip along the top of the screen on some commercials and some SD programs on the "HD" channels etc then all you can really do is change the TV's HD Size setting to size 1 which will add 5% of overscan and hide that strip. Size 2 is dot-by-dot and will expose that data strip which was always hidden on the old tube TVs.

If that doesn't work, or if the HD Size setting is grayed out and unavailable then come back and tell us:

(A) Exactly what kind of STB you're using (TWC 8300HD, Comcast Motorola HD Box, DirecTV HR-22-700, etc).

(B) How it's connected to the TV (HDMI, Component, Composite, etc).

(C) What shows/channels you're seeing it on?

(D) What is the resolution of the source when you see this strip (480p, 720p, 1080i, etc).
