Hi,
I'm using Windows Media Center on Vista x64 with a Avermedia M780 tuner card. Whenever I try to record NBC-HD (via ClearQAM) the channel CHANGES to some other crap as soon as I hit the record button. This is the only channel I have personally encountered which acts this way. What the hell is going on? Does anybody record NBC-HD through ClearQAM with windows media center? From my research on this, it appears that there was an issue awhile back that prevented Windows Media Center users from recording certain NBC shows. See: http://news.cnet.com/8301-10784_3-9943631-7.html
But, from my research, this is no longer an issue and was rectified. NBC and Microsoft both claim that this was actually a mistake. Even at this, I am not experiencing the same thing as these users were. Apparently, victims of the aforementioned problem were receiving an error: ""Restrictions set by the broadcaster and/or originator prohibit recording of this program."
I'm not receiving any kind of error, the channel just changes to some other ClearQAM broadcast and Media Center proceeds to record it, but it isn't the NBC show I am trying to record! Interestingly, Windows Media Center is still reporting the channel number as that of NBC-HD (in my case, channel 8.1) but it is not NBC programming! Can anybody shed any light on this issue?
I really want to record Poker After Dark in HD, so this is driving me up the wall!
