and now The Simpsons are green? wtf??? i thought i heard somewhere that AXIS toned down reds or all color in general. also looked like blue was really strong when i turned it to another show. im on a sony wega

Well, if that's what the control does, it would make sense... removing red from yellow will leave green...

A suggestion for the future: don't mess around in the service menu unless you nkow exactly what you are doing. You can accidentally render your set useless.

Assuming this is a relatively modern Sony TV, what you really want to do is adjust the color decoder using the approprriate sevice menu settings rather then hoping one of the "AXIS" defaults is correct (assuming Sony even uses the "AXIS" service menu setting for that purpose anymore).

What you should do is to change the "AXIS" value back to whatever number it was before you changed it. If you are dead set on properly adjusting your color decoder, you should do a search for your model and hope you can find some useful advice on where the color decoder's controls are located within your TVs service menu. Then you need the appropriate test patterns as well as some means of setting them correctly (preferably with a colorimeter/spectroradiometer or worst case using colored filters).

Always write down any changes you make in the service menu so that you can change them back. Keep in mind that there is always the possibility of doing harm to your set when adjusting values in the service menu that you are not 100% sure of. Even if you don't "break" your TV, having to permanently live with a picture like you caused would be almost as bad.

well i wound up settin the AXIS down to 0 and that made the tint normal again. reds are still too strong though and i still on certain things see ppl with "glowing" skin
