View Full Version : Zero Signal with Digital Signal

I am in Texarkana, TX 75503. I have a 70 foot mast with a Windgard 7967
HD7697P & HD7698P (VHF, UHF) Channels 7 - 69

All four networks-ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX are at approximately 170 South of me. I have tried three different amps, three different converters, moved the antenna slightly to try to adjust for best signal...and still find no channels and a zero signal. I have lowered the antenna to recheck connections, also.

Even the station engineers are baffled.

Any help is appreciated.
On edit--The analog channel for channel 3 is still transmitting a PSA on how to hookup your converter box. I get this signal just fine.

have you double checked with a different make/model DTV receiver?

or have use measured the r.f. signals on a UHF/VHF signal meter or (don't laugh) a spectrum analyzer

Thank you for the fast reply. I do have three different brands of DTV converters, but they all find nothing with a scan. I have also tried manually to select the correct channel for each of the networks, but to no avail.

I don't have access to a spectrum analyzer, but understand what you refer to. I am going to call a couple HAMs I know and see if they may be able to do that for me.

Thanks again :)

How about posting the tvfool.com for your location ?

Time for a professional with a signal meter or spectrum analyzer to diagnose it.

You'll probably find it's something stupid like a dead receptacle your pre-amp's power supply is plugged into or a bad UVSJ (or hooked up wrong) or there's a big-a$$ hill right in your line of sight. There has to be a pretty good reason you have a 70' mast and your distance doesn't explain it.

Since all your stuff is from Winegard, have you contacted their tech support?

We definitely need your TV FOOL report for the best advice.

Just a quick glance at Texarkana shows plenty of available stations. What amps have you tried. Have you carefully examined the feed lines on the antenna to make sure they aren't touching each other? Did you buy coax with the ends already attached, or did you put them on yourself?
