i have seen this general question asked a lot but i have never seen it in the form of a poll.

lets vote and discuss how hot you run your sub(s) FOR MUSIC ONLY.

i have a music setting on my receiver and a movies setting on my receiver and i'm sure i'm not the only one that does this. so this thread is just for your music setting.

also please take into account that the radio shack SPL meter will be off by a couple db. i guess people say that it's off 3db. so for example if you set it to 80db then it's really 8db hot. so please factor that in when voting.

I have no need to run them hot, they pound hard as hell where they are set. Which is at 78db on my rat shack meter and -8 on the AVR. So, I voted flat since that was the lowest choice.

Actual reading on the RS SPL meter I generally run around 2-3db higher, which would be 5-6db corrected.

if you set your sub to 78 and your mains to 75 using the radio shack meter then you are running your sub about 5-6 db hot.
