Looking to maybe get the WD TV HD with an external 750 GB USB Drive. Would love to have something like it with an internal SATA drive instead though. I would prefer something simple and uses NTFS and not a popcorn hour. Around $200 is what it costs for the WD + a 750 GB drive

Found a Hornettek Mirage at http://www.goharddrive.com/HornetTek-Mirage-1TB-1000GB-Multimedia-Player-p/g03-0414.htm and I like it but it doesn't do mkv's. I can live without that if need be for now. I mostly want dvd ISO file playback and my divx/xvid collection.

It does, but just the main movie, no menus, no special features...

I can live with just the main movie and DD 5.1 as a .ISO. IS there anything like the WD but with an internal SATA drive?

popcorn a110 is a good choice and he plays dvd isos with menu

My max budte right now is $200. I can get the WD TV and a 750 GB WD usb drive for $200 or the Hornettek Mirage with 1 TB for $180. Popcorn hour will run over $300 with a sata drive.

I do not care about streaming from internet or from a pc. I want to play files stored on harddrive or usb flash drive.

I've also found the Hantech Markus 300 with 1 TB from Canada for around $200 but it doesn't have a USB host for a flash drive.

The WD sounds perfect but I don't like the external drive idea as it's two power cords and two power switches and not one integrated device.

Also found the Iomega Screenplay HD pro as well.

My top 4 options are:

WD HD TV + 1000GB external HDD
Xtreamer + 320 GB laptop HDD
AC Ryan PlayOn 500GB HDD
Hornettek Mirage 1000GB
Iomega Screenplay HD Pro 1000GB

I do not want to deal with 2 components, so mp, plus hd will be best! how abt new iomega hd
