Hi,

I've recently purchased the Winegard HD 7084P TV Antenna along with Winegard 8275 preamp. I haven't been able to mount it in the attic yet, but in an upstairs bedroom it's pulling in 20 channels. I had tried a smaller RCA yagi style antenna and was able to pull in up to 24 channels but not with the signal strength of the Winegard. Because the Winegard antenna is so large, it's currently pointing towards the basement, lol, but I'm hoping I didn't waste my money by buying a bigger antenna and hesitate to mount it in the attic if I can get better results with a different antenna (my attic is tight so it will be a challenge to mount).

Also, I'm pulling in the Philly channels, any chance for me to get Baltimore channels?

Any thoughts from the pros? I live in the 19320 zip code.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

Your tvfool.com report looks like this:
http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29&q=id%3d618a377b49f896

Your local signals in green are fairly strong.

For more accurate results you can go to tvfool.com and enter your exact address which will not show in the report. Then you can give us the url that is in bold type near the top of the report like I did above using just the zip. You will not be able to post a hot link until you make a few more posts.

Differences in construction make it difficult to predict attic loss.

The spec sheet for your antenna is here:

The 8275 is here:

And the HDP-269 preamp used in high signal areas is here:
http://www.winegard.com/kbase/upload/WC-809%20_HDP-269.pdf

The next smaller all-channel antenna (if you need ABC on CH 6) is the 7082:

WMAR, WNUV, and WJZ from Baltimore are pretty weak in your area.

The fact that you're getting pretty decent results indoors with the antenna pointed at the ground means you should get excellent results actually pointed at the stations. You're lucky, it appears most of your stations are all in the same direction. I think your current equipment should work fine assuming you can point it in the right direction once you get it installed in the attic.

heres a relatively small $32 antenna from buy.com that should work well for most channels and be ez to mount in your attic >

Bad choice. That antenna doesn't work on low band for WPVI.

In my attic I use the Winegard 7015 antenna
http://www.solidsignal.tv/prod_display.asp?PROD=HD-7015
along with the Winegard 8275 preamp
http://www.solidsignal.tv/prod_displ...=&PROD=SAP8275

At 35 miles with a 2700' peak 3 miles from me directly in the way I get all local channels 7, 9, 11, 13, 2 (digital 43), 4 (digital 36), 5 (digital... I forget), however 28 is so so.
