I've had this display since Christmas 2002 and it's worked wonderfully for all my sources (HD cable, DVD, and Blu-Ray), however, I have a question and concern.

In 2004, I did a quick tune-up with a cheap home theatre set-up disc I got from Sam Goody's. Now, I have DVE HD Basics on the way for a proper DIY calibration. For DVD and Blu watching, should I calibrate in Movie mode or Pro mode? Which has better color accuracy and grayscale? For my original tune-up, I used Movie mode.

Also, I've noticed that the extreme edges of the picture seem softer than the center. I especially notice this when I bring up my digital cable guide. Text on either far side of the screen appears blurrier than text in the center. Is there anything I can do to fix it? I am Service Mode savvy.

Any feedback at all would be appreciated, thanks. This forum is wonderful resource.

no, thats the nature of an aging CRT.

Thanks. Is it going to get to the point where the TV is unwatchable?

Read the service menu tweak thread, mainly the Focus section. Just did mine and it looks spot on all around except for a CM or in the bottom corners.
