So it looks to be that I can get a hold of a Klipsch RW-12D used (lightly) for $400 bucks. New price is $799.

Or I can wait till closer to Christmas and possibly get a HSU VTF3-MK3.

Right now I have a very old Pioneer Sw-1000 (70 watt lol) 12' sub. So either is obviously a big upgrade for me.

I already have Klipsch legendary series KLF-30 with updated cross overs and a center channel. The klipsch sub would match but I could care less about that. Its all about quality and price for me. Just looking for some peoples .02c

P.S. Don't ask me how I misspelled the title like that. It did take some skill though. Any moderator that reads this and is able to correct spelling I'd appreciate it lol.

Considering it's retail price and the deal your getting and taking for granted it's in good condition, I'd get it. Then around Christmas when your ready to upgrade you should be able to sell it for little to nothing lost or best case scenario make a few bucks in the process.

so if I could get either the klipsch xw-500d pr the rw-12d whats a better pick? I know the 500d has more power but its a sealed box compared to the ported rw-12d.

The room is only about 20 feet wide and 30 feet long. There are 3 openings, one to the kitchen, one to the hallway, and one wall that opens into a according door into the next room.

Do I need the extra power because of the openings in the room? Right now my sub is a bottom firing sub (only 75 watts lol). Will I see a big difference with a front firing one?

I appreciate your guys help. Its a tough decision for me considering I don't have a chance to hear either of them. But I can get either one cheap.

jakeman has a good idea, buy that sub now and sell it later when you have saved a bit more. It sounds like you could get all your money back when you decide to unload it. Another thing to keep in mind is HSU has sales on the VTF3.3 periodically, I would think they would have a sale before December, however I haven't seen them give a discount on anything other than the satin black finish, so if you were willing to settle with that you could save a bit. I bought mine on a sale for $630, and it is a fantastic subwoofer.
