So my Sub-10 died on me tonight (the bass had been fading in and out on the low frequencies for a few days and now it has stopped working all together). But when when I pick it up and move it around, I get an occasional thump, which makes me think there is a wire inside that has become loose and each time it connects, I am getting a response.

Since the sub is out of warranty by about 6 months, I want to go ahead and crack it open to see if there might be any loose wires or bad connections. I have never taken apart a sub before, and can't find anything on the web to help.

Any how to's or advice on how to do this would be greatly appreciated!

There should be screws around the outter edge of the amp that mount the plate to the enclosure. Unscrew those only, the middle ones if any, are holding other parts to the amp.

You might have to use something sharp to wedge and break the seal once the screws are out but it should come out easy enough and be careful to pull it straight out so you don't bump the parts mounted to the plate.

Thanks for your help!! Once I popped the amp off, I found that that the negative speaker cable had become disconnected from the amp. I was able to reattach it pretty quickly and now my baby is shaking the house again! :)
