So I'm giving AV123 5 days to get back to me on my dual MFW purchase until I go with another vendor. That said, I'm preparing and researching other vendors/subs.

Please do not turn this into a bash av123 thread. thank you.

I have a 1155 cubic ft (11x14x7.5)media room with a Rocket sig system.

1) I don't care much about the aesthetics of the sub.. It can be flat black but should look nice next to the rockets
2) Budget - at most 1500-2k - the lower the better (WAF factor)
3) goals - shake the house and/or give chills (not necessarily in that order)
4) Duals? Maybe. The room is wired and set for duals (hence the MFW dual reference above)
5) size - no more than 2ft wide. The sub(s) will be on the front wall, but can be moved to the rear of the theater behind the seating if needed - but don't plan on that.

I like to go big, buy quality and not have to buy more in the future. I listen to music a lot (top 40/classical etc) and will be using this media room for prime time tv/movie nights and sports. so the sub would need to be able to do all "well".

I appreciate everyone's comments. Please let me know if you have any questions.

1155 cubic foot room

HSU
SVS
Submersive
Rhythmik

Any of these would be good choices. Personally, nothing touches Seaton's Submersive for the money but it may stretch your parameters for size..

thoughts on going with one PB13 Ultra or Dual PC12-NSD's?

I tried searching but the terms are too small. Anyone compared this before?

I'd be looking at ED for that price range.

This thread addresses much the same topic and has been on the front page frequently.

Per some email conversations I have had with SVS:

Dual PB12-NSD < Single PB13-Ultra < Dual PB12-Plus < Dual PB13-Ultra

SVS is a great company to do business with, very professional and prompt, good service all around.

I'd also look at the dual Rythmik D15-SE's (you get a discount for ordering duals from Ryhtmik, it comes to $1,800 plus S/h for the two)

Also, Dual Epik Sentinels or Dual Phoenix's, over your proposed budget but if you don't want to buy again the dual Phoenix's should surpass what the Dual MFW-15's will do. Per Chad a single Phoenix should match dual MFW's below 25 Hz. That should give you some thrill factor.

You are a perfect candidate for one PB-13 Ultra in a real wood veneer, or gloss black. I like rosenut, you and your wifer might like gloss black. Even in gloss black you are under $2,000 delivered.

In that size of room, a single 15" Rythmik would be exceptional.....a single of any of the subs mention would be more the sufficient output. Spend the rest of the money on good room treatments and EQ.
