hey there. I have this 8 year old htib pioneer sub. I also have the pa-120. Should i add the pioneer into my set-up, and play it quitely. I think this would add sound and feeling as well as help fill nodes? Would adding this low level sub help?

In a word...No.

Don't bother with the crappy HTiB sub. It will just make the sound that much worse and serve no purpose.

Most likely not. It will however make it much more complicated for you to set up and integrate the two subs properly. More than likely you would be forced to either reduce the output of your PA-120 or overdrive the HTiB sub.

Mixing subs can be very tricky and if you are already calling the old sub "crappy" I would just put it in another room, sell it or give it away.

+1

Some one here once said "would you buy a new horse to pull your buggy and then hook up the tired old one next to it????"

I tried it... and didnt like it at all... adding a second PA-120 though made a huge diference...

I would say try it just because you already have it and you can, there is no better way to learn than personal experience, which you have available to you.

You have your answer here though, over and over an I'll +1,2,3,4 etc it.

No. I tested this with an svs pb12-nsd and a pb13 ultra. It just makes it worse. Try for yourself though. I did.
