Since you didn't mention using a meter for calibration, I am assuming you aren't really calibrating - just looking for something that will help you find good user menu settings. That's step 1 to getting good images - true calibration is the only way to get your display to be as accurate as it can be. Calibration is the technical adjustment of video display using a meter of some sort and calibration software that helps you decipher the meter readings in useful ways. The Blu-ray Digital Video Essentials disc is the best disc you can get right now for setting the user menu settings - it's available for less than $20 with some shopping around. |
