Hi folks,

I have seen several people who requested older versions of the WD TV firmware.

This thread contains the official firmware versions (no user customized ones) from WD to download at Rapidshare.com

WDTV Firmware 1.01.02 (http://rapidshare.com/files/247658529/WD_Firmware_1.01.02.zip)
WDTV Firmware 1.02.00 (http://rapidshare.com/files/247658581/WD_Firmware_1.02.00.zip)
WDTV Firmware 1.02.03 (http://rapidshare.com/files/247658651/WD_Firmware_1.02.03.zip)
WDTV Firmware 1.02.04 (http://rapidshare.com/files/247658891/WD_Firmware_1.02.04.zip)
WDTV Firmware 1.02.06 (http://rapidshare.com/files/247658952/WD_Firmware_1.02.06.zip)
WDTV Firmware 1.02.07 (http://rapidshare.com/files/247659042/WD_Firmware_1.02.07.zip)
WDTV Firmware 1.02.08 (http://rapidshare.com/files/247660222/WD_Firmware_1.02.08.zip)
WDTV Firmware 1.02.10 (http://rapidshare.com/files/248761744/WD_Firmware_1.02.10.zip)
WDTV Firmware 1.03.01 (http://rapidshare.com/files/301277611/WDTV_1_03_01.zip)

To apply an older firmware just edit the wdtv.ver file to a release number higher than the firmware which is currently applied to your WDTV.

Example: If you are using Firmware 1.02.10 and want to apply 1.02.08 open wdtv.ver in an editor and change:

VERSION='1.02.08'
to
VERSION='1.03.08'

The firmware version will be still 1.02.08 after you have applied it (not 1.03.08).

this is probably a dumb question but how do I go about editing the .ver file?

Just open the .VER file with Notepad and edit the text. Save and that's it :)
