Hope this is the place for this:

I live in Sherman Tx. I finally got my local HD channels on Dish. I pointed my antenna at Dallas yesterday and got most of the stations. The one I really wanted, WFAA is only getting signal of about 58 which is not enough to hold station. Most of the others are about 65.

I am using a AntennaCraft C480 Colorstar UHF VHF FM TV Antenna 48 Element mounted on roof. I have a splitter coming off antenna going to two tv's. I am looking at the channel master 7777 preamp. Just not sure if it will work with the splitter. I seen a DC block that might work if I put it on the tv without power supply. Should this work? I also have 110 outlet by splitter. Is their another amp that is about same quility that would plug in at location?

Their are a few exceptions but most splitters short the DC power so the power inserter needs to be between the splitter and the preamp. Post TVFool results and we can give you a preamp reccomendation.

I think I'm going to go ahead and get the 7777. I can hook up both amplifier and power supply together just before splitter. I think that should work.

When I first got interested in adding a CM7777 to my setup I had a similar question (see http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=15875765#post15875765) and as you can read there I learned about power passive splitters. They will let the DC from the CM7777's power injector to reach the pre-amp without affecting the other TV. I got the Holland GHS-2P shown in that thread.
