View Full Version : How many of you have both D* and E* subs? Xylon 06-28-09, 08:56 AM I have them but for couple of years but now that I have FIOS I am contemplating in canceling one of them. Any thoughts? fredfa 06-28-09, 09:01 AM HD movies: Dish HD sports: DirecTV. It seems to me that FiOS overlaps more with Dish than with D*. If you can live without the RSN and sports packages, drop DirecTV. But you know that already, you have had them both. So why ask US what you should do? dfergie 06-28-09, 12:13 PM I have HD Dvrs with both Dish and DirecTv, and more programming with Dish plus they have my HD Locals (I did gain CBS OTA from the digital transition)... mikey mo 06-29-09, 12:09 AM I have both. sillysam 06-29-09, 10:53 AM I have them but for couple of years but now that I have FIOS I am contemplating in canceling one of them. Any thoughts? You need all three. You are the screen capture king. You need to capture from as many sources as possible for comparisons. You should also get cable. joenj07087 06-29-09, 11:38 AM question about FIOS...with FIOS ..do you experience motion blur? with Cable I certainly do with fast moving action..! PMA 06-29-09, 02:00 PM I do not have both satellite companies but would consider adding U-Verse when it becomes available where I live and keeping D*. I would certainly change my programming with D* to minimize overlap but need to keep it for NFL Sunday Ticket. U-Verse appears to have more HD than D* and if this remains the case, there is appeal to have it as well. Xylon 07-05-09, 08:25 AM question about FIOS...with FIOS ..do you experience motion blur? with Cable I certainly do with fast moving action..! Yes, of course. Xylon 07-05-09, 08:26 AM You need all three. You are the screen capture king. You need to capture from as many sources as possible for comparisons. You should also get cable. I have cable. But only internet. $60 extra for HD access. Xylon 07-05-09, 08:36 AM HD movies: Dish HD sports: DirecTV. It seems to me that FiOS overlaps more with Dish than with D*. They gave me a "deal" to stay for another year. Its too good to pass up. Oh well. With Dish cancelling their HD Absolute package (HD only sub for $29.99) they really don't have any advantage over DirecTV or FIOS (if its available in your area). Ok if they start transmitting at 18 to 35 mpbs mpeg4 then maybe . . . :D With Tivo going back to DirecTV. I don't see anyone choosing them over the other providers. |
