Hello Forum Friends:

Here is a vexing situation I am going through and I will give some background and history of the issue and the problem.

1) I bought a Westinghouse W2613 model ( presumably w/ a digital tuner) TV(HDTV). Since I did not want to spend the money for cable for this TV ( I have cable on other channels), I decided to connect my existing Outdoor Antenna ( 20 yrs old ) to the TV.

2) Well, I get a few channels and dont get several others ( I live in the Chicago area and do not get CH 7, 11, 32 etc.)

3) But i get a few other channels like 23, 9 etc, that 23-1, 9-1, 9-2 (for HD, of course). I used to get 11, sort of.. ( PBS), before the Digital switch in June, but now no signal at all. In fact I used to get 11-1, 11-2, 11-3 etc.

4. I bought and connected an In- line signal Amplifier from Radio shack with no improvement in results.

Please advice as to what the problem might be and what I can do about it. I do not want to get cable or Dish.

Thanks

Nate

Did you rescan?

Doesn't sound like it.

He probably needs to do the "double rescan" process.

Some of the digital chs may have moved to an RF range which your antenna does not pick up. Read some of the OTA threads for background on this issue.

Before messing too much more with the antenna - have you tried plugging your existing cable from the cable co into the TV and scanning for digital cable chs? Your TV may have a QAM tuner and pick up a bunch of clear QAM chs.
