Directv says they have a Wimbledon mix on channel 701 (https://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/content/sports/tennis/wimbledon_2009), yet both of my receivers say "Channel not available". Is this a premium channel?

Nope. It was free to all subscribers AFAIK. Just like the US Open mix was. It's not there today as the feature ended yesterday.

Hmm - is the Mix only available for the first week of Wimbledon fortnight then? (There is no play on the middle Sunday, so no action today)

Do different rights holders have the first and second weeks? (The men's final should be a week today)

(Over here the BBC have the rights for the whole event, and are also host broadcasters. We have a 16:9 SD multiscreen interactive service - with 2 additional streams OTA - so at some points there are FOUR tennis matches OTA - and about 6 streams on satellite)
