OK..first time poser in this Forum, i've been reading a lot, and i decided to make the move to a HD Camera. after a week of going around and checking models all over, i came to 2 models..wich seems VERY similar on paper.

the SONY HDR-XR500V and the Panasonic HDCHS250K. Both in the same price range.

Now, hopefully some of you guys can help me decide on a model.. The camera is mostly for home use. the fact that it take still pictures on both is also greath, that means i do not have to take my full SLRD kit with me everywere.

ONLY issue i've seen with the sony..is that it does'nt do 24P....not that much of a big deal since i can convert the files from 60i to 24p, just an extra step.

Also i work in CGI ( Computer Visual FX ) and and having the ability on the fly to go shoot some footage for a shot i'm working on will be very helpfull.

I'm not STOCK on those 2 models, so if there is something better in that price range, i'm open to sugestions as well.

SO...which one will suit my needs better?.

Thanks for your time, and please forgive the typo's has i'm French Canadien..

Al.

I just came back from a trip to San Francisco, and I did a couple of Videos, that I thought you guys might enjoy. All of these video shot in full auto, and very little correction on post (Magix MEP).
al3d, I picked the Sony over the other models for its low light capability, and the presence of an EVF. I had an HDC-SD9 and I hated it, and sold it on Ebay. My wife loves this camera, for its point and shoot feature. See my New York Videos.
