Hi,
I have been sand bagging on this form site for a while and now have a question for the experts. I have recently recieved 2 crt video monitors (panasonic ct2786y) in new condition. I would like to use them for dvd/cable veiwing in my home theater. They have bcn in/out and svideo in/out connections. I can not get these to produce sound or video. When connecting a dvd player via svideo I get a scrambled picture and no sound. These monitors were used for closed circuit cameras in an industrial enviroment and have no way to change the input (tv/video button) What do I need to make these work? I hope i am asking this in the right forum, thanks in advance.

thanks for the link ratman but I have been there already. I have 2 of these monitors and both do the same thing, dvd connected to s video (2 new s video cords) scrambled picture. Is this some kind of modulation or conversion
problem? I would love to get these monitors to work. The monitor has a video lable in green when turned on. What am i missing here? If you look at the manual 1 model has video input switching and 1 does not. I have the model with no video switching.

Maybe the DVD player is not set for 480I, or its 480I signal is not right for the particular TV. I once encountered an old NEC VCR that did not "like" a 20" Mitsubishi TV, and gave me a scrambled image, out of sync with bending and no color. I had to use a different VCR with that set.

thanks jdre,
I have not checked what the dvd is set for. I will hook it up to my rear pojection lcd and see. Any chance I can use the bcn input with an adapter?

The issue was the monitor only would except 480i over a svideo connection. Thanks jdre!
