Not sure how best to describe this so please bear with me.

This never happens in game just in cutscenes and sometimes in BD movies.

to start with i only noticed this in a couple of games, now i am aware of it i see it a lot more. Best way i have to describe it is white blocks showing up on screen, Most noticably i saw it in the force unleashed. I just picked up Resistance today and noticed it on the cutscenes in that too. I am not sure if it is the TV or the PS3. Have any of you ever seen anything like this before?

Actully in game i never see it, or at least it is not noticeably. I tried Adusting the output to native 720 but that did not fix the issue.

While just typing this i realized both games that have the issue seam to have 720p as the video format

Equipmnet:
Ps3 BC Model (motorstorm pack)
Samsung DLP TV (model HLN5065W)

Do you have a long HDMI cable run or are you going through an HDMI switch? I was getting that on one port of my Monoprice switch. I switched ports and the issue went away.

Might want to try a different HDMI cable as well.

My TV is DVI. So i have been using a HDMI to DVI cable

It is possible it is the cable. Can anyone recomend a good Cable that would do the job

Grab a DVI>HDMI adapter from monoprice, that way you can use any HDMI cable you want, which is nice if you need to use a longer/shorter cable. Of course they also sell nice HDMI>DVI cable too:)

plot thickens,

I took the Ps3 upstairs and hooked it up in the bedroom and used completely differnt hdmi cable up there. Same problem occured.

Went back downstairs and in moving it the Display setting got reset. Now problem seams a lot less. wondering if it was a setting.

Very odd. Will try it properly tonight to see if it is really resolved.

Could you possibly reset all video settings? Maybe something is turned on that the TV doesn't support/ like.
