Saw this film on DVD back in the day - thought it was just so so. But I will give it another look on BD.

One of my favorites, with lovely and talented Robin Tunney and Faruza Balk. Hubba hubba!

Ooh, Fairuza Balk at the height of her hotness in HD?! Yes, please! :)

Maybe Life in the Fast Lane will be out on Blu-Ray soon, too! :D

(Or maybe not...) :(

I liked this when i saw it back in the nineties and when they made the television show Charmed it reminded me of this movie a lot ( even though there are differences )

It would be interesting to watch it again all these years later and see if i still like it.

Own the DVD... wouldnt mind replacing if the price was right. BTW, does the girl from Twilight remind you of Robin Tunney?

I remember this movie being pretty entertaining. I think it will at least merit a rental.

Didn't know there were that many fans of this movie. All I can think of is "I'MSORRYI'MSORRYI'MSORRYI'MSORRYI'MSORRYI'MSORRY" and laugh to myself at how bad that was. I hope for y'all it comes in under $15 on amazon. :)

Whenever someone says a movie is bad my immediate reaction is what movies do you think are good. That way i can usually reply well hey that movie you liked also sucked :p

I guess the point being we just all have different tastes. Some might say there is no accounting for taste but it would be a poor world without variety.

I don't see it as being any worse than the vast majority of movies that come out on Blu-Ray. Yea, it would be nice if the price for a BD was under $15. They are GROSSLY overpriced.

I ordered The Craft on Blu-ray earlier this month. The movie is not perfect but it entertains me and I like the music. I even bought the soundtrack CD. Before Circuit City went bankrupt, I bought the DVD for $3! The Blu-ray will be far more expensive so I'm hoping Sony does a decent AVC video transfer with Dolby TrueHD sound.

******SPOILERS*****

Here are the scenes I enjoy the most:

1) Nancy Downs (Fairuza Balk) goes berserk on Chris Hooker (Skeet Ulrich).
Chris: You're just jealous!
Nancy: Jealous? Jealous? You don't even exist to me! You don't exist! You are nothing! You are sh*t! You don't exist. The only way you know how to treat women is by treating them like whores! Well, you're the whore! And this is gonna stop! Do you understand! Do you understand what I'm saying? Hmm?
Chris: [frightened] I'm sorry!
Nancy: Oh, he's sorry! He's sorry, he's sorry, he's sorry, he's sorry, he's sorry!
[Nancy screams]
Nancy: Sorry, my ass!
[Nancy pushes Chris out a window and kills him]

2) Bonnie (Neve Campbell) sees Sarah Bailey (Robin Tunney) spin the pencil in class. Because of budget limitations, most of the special effects occurred at the end of the movie, which helped because this allowed for more character development. The spinning pencil is the first evidence that magic is real and not just in the girls heads.

3) The butterfly scene

4) Driver: Watch out for the weirdos, girls.
Nancy: We are the weirdos, mister.

5) Mitt (Breckin Meyer) making fun of Chris for carrying Sarah's books.

6) The "light as a feather, stiff as a board" scene.

7) "Dangerous Type" playing while the four witches walk down the hall in sexy clothing.

I wasn't as entertained by the final confrontation between Sarah and Nancy. This scene probably ate up most of the special effects budget and they had to hire somebody to herd the snakes and bugs. A better and more economical use of special effects was the scene in the magic shop when Nancy sees the book illustration come alive. The last two scenes (Sarah casts lightning and Bonnie and Rochelle duck, Nancy in the nuthouse) were good though.

Oh no doubt, I'm sure I like some terrible movies. Just they do release some ones like this that may not sell all that well as a catalog release. Right time of year though, Halloween. And I guess with the Twilight/teeny-vampire thing going on these days...maybe I'm wrong. I'm just glad movies like Braveheart and Gladiator are finally making it to blu-ray.

haha, although i was sort of being both 100% serious as well as 100% joking at the same time with the comment since I actually do like it quite a bit and in some ways DO consider it a classic, and it maybe even is an actual, underground at least, classic and yet calling it one of the classic films of cinema  :D
anyway i'll get a copy
i've seen it quite a few times already.

don't knock the classics man!
