I got an elite and thought it would be a dark black color but it's in reality pretty much a gray color. :confused: Now the headset and controller are definately black but I'm wondering why the console color doesn't match?

yes, the elites are charcoal and everything else is black.

Definitely not GRAY. Much much closer to back than gray, yes they did it on purpose.

The plastic is pretty black...not absolute black but pretty close.

The finish on the surface diffuses quite a bit of light, making it look gray in brighter light.

BINGO! The textured surface causes it to have a "Matte" effect, causing the muted "Grayish" look.

Wow, now that that is solved..... zzzzzz...
