I'm looking for a streaming solution that will allow me to get dvd rips onto my TV over a wired network. I want full DVD menu and subtitle support. Most importantly I am looking for a streamer that is stable and won't crash a lot. It seems that many devices these days have a laundry list of features and codecs and whatnot but are completely unstable, which ruins the experience. I have been using an htpc for the past few months and while it is quite good, there are so many issues with it freezing and not turning off or on properly, etc. so I'd like to give a dedicated streamer a try. I know there are a couple of new things coming out like the xtreamer and mvix ultio but I'm open to anything older also as long as they are stable. Thanks.

I haven't had any noticeable stability issues using an NMT for DVD iso streaming.

XBMC with original Xbox is flawless for non HiDef content. You can get an orig Xbox from Craiglist for about $50 or less. Some might come soft modded already. It can do DVD ISO with full menu support. My favorite feature is that it can read .zip and .rar files and play them without needing you to unzip/unrar.
