Ever since netflix has charged more for blu Ray movies I still do not see a difference. I know I have been waiting for taken since it first came out. I just hope one day they will make renting blu rays faster

Same here bro'. I've been waiting for Taken and Gran Torino since they came out. Both movies are at the top of my queue. I'm tempted to go to Blockbuster to rent them in bluray.

I had to bail on BD access when the price hike hit and honestly haven't missed it.
But reading that service is still slow and worse, discs are arriving cracked and unplayable really sucks for those who stuck it out.

I hope they fix these problems for you folks.

Well, I just added it to my queue and it shows up as available now! I did notice quick avilability of BDs in my area since NF jacked up the price.

I used to be with Netflix. Then switched to Blockbuster. Then switched back to Netflix and have been very happy. Their turnaround time has been very good and I have had not issues getting new releases. I think they throttle people. Perhaps cancelling your service for a few months and then rejoining would help.

I dropped netflix for blockbuster. So far it's been working out better. We'll see in the long run. I like that I can do 5 in store swaps and I don't have to pay extra for blu ray.

FWIW, I've noticed a huge difference. Right now I have 368 movies in my queue (DVD and BD) and the only one in a Very Long Wait status is Gran Torino. I have 3 in a Long Wait, and several in a Short wait status.

But I have enough movies in my queue that I don't really care. But having only one movie in my entire list in a Very Long Wait status is much better than it was, so I feel I'm safe in saying that the situation is better in my area.

I'm in Chicago and have no problems with getting BD. There are so many coming out that the top of my que is 100% BD. I just got 4 in the mail today. I've been a member since they started out.

The only thing I do to make sure I get a New Release is to mail a movie back so they receive it on Monday morning and have the Tuesday releases at the top of my queue. They generally mail the Tuesday releases out on Monday night
Other than that I am stuck waiting for weeks to get movies at the top of my queue.

The only ones I had the long wait on also had the same waits for the dvd release.

Before many blu-rays were hard to get for months, now only a few new releases are hard to get, the rest are immediately available.

While I remember how long I had to wait to watch The Wrestler and Australia, I can easily think of the like 30 other movies on my queue that were immediately available.

I added Blockbuster online to get the local swaps. However, there was a long wait for just about everything I wanted to rent. I ended up converting to the blockbuster local plan and completely abandoning the Blockbuster online service. At the same time I dropped my NetFlix plan down to 2 at a time. This seems to give me the best balance. With Netflix I get earlier access to new new and more Blu-ray titles than locally available. I can still drop by blockbuster on the way home from work to swap for a new Blu-ray or DVD title. Only problem is that I've found that I have had to accept more DVDs locally than I like -- since my local store only seems to have about 2 Blu-ray discs for new titles.

That sounds like an excellent idea, a good balance. I might do that myself since the local bb has a great bd selection and netflix has a diverse selection. Right now I'm not on any plan, just watching $1 rentals from Hastings and catching up on my collection. When I go back to a plan I think I'll go with your idea.

i really hope it turns around by the fall. for now i am just renting tv series from netflix so its cool. but still if you have to pay a lot more for blu ray then netflix should start doing a better job.

Please use the Netflix discussion thread in the BD software forum. Thanks.
