I am most likely going with the Onkyo 607 and the SVS speakers. I have a mid-large room so will these speakers have enough power that will give me excellent sound? At one time i was going to go with one of Onkyo's HTIB but from what I am hearing the speakers that come with systems are sub-par.

Well, excellent sound is subjective, but SVS will certainly be a step up or three from the Onkyos. You did the right thing in going with a dedicated speaker company.

How big is your room? They should work all right unless you're in a ballroom or something.

My living room is 14' 2"x 24' 3".

There should be one more dimension, unless you live in Flatland. (Sorry, physics joke.) ;)
