I was just going to go up soon with a Wade Delhi full vhf that i have had awhile and just getting around to putting it up. I am hearing in here, vhf digital has alot of down falls but i guess i will go ahead and try vhf while i am at it and have the antenna already.

I flipped on my tv this morning, running two antennas Direct 91xg's. They have been doing a great job. I am amazed by these antennas and the distance some mornings and late nights. Plus my steady stations.

I had on a channel this morn and noticed my signal dropped and this channel 70 miles away never comes in less than 7 to 8 bars and usually 10 bars. All of a sudden, it was going out and left and i turned the antenna and nothing. Then i put it on a channel 20 miles from me and no signal. That has never happened.

It seemed to start and then i turned the rotor and after that nothing. I have rescanned and get 0 channels. To trouble shoot, what should i look for? Just looking up 55 ft high the antennas look good. Could a cable came loose? I don't see how. Could my preamp(channel master) gone out? It stays plugged in the wall all the time and it isn't over 6 months old. My tuner is a Samsung(plasma doesn't have tuner). Should i unplug that and rescan channels? It was no storms at all and beautiful this morn when everything went off. My tv works good and cable tv works good.

It would be good if i had another tuner to see if it has anything to do with the Samsung tuner. Thanks for any help and i want to mention all this week as the weather was nice, humidity had lifted alot, the conditions have been amazing all week untill this happened.

Short of troubleshooting each part individually, there's no way to speculate what might be wrong...

I agree.

Start your troubleshooting using the "divide and conquer" method.

First substitute another tuner (or borrow a small digital tv to replace the tuner and plasma) to see if it is the tuner or the antenna system.

If a known good tuner/dtv also gets no signals, then set up a separate temporary antenna system that is at least good enough for the 20mi signal.

If both tuners work with the temporary antenna, then substitute the parts in the original antenna system.

Ok thanks. I will get back and let you know. It was weird, watching and seeing the signal leave and i turned the rotor and nothing. It wasn't windy and was a beautiful day. I am guessing the preamp or tuner but will trouble shoot soon and let you know. I miss it. I have cable also but get differ statiuons with antenna and really missing those.
