I have a Canon HF S100 and a dell 1330 with HDMI. I would like to play-back video directly from my camcorder using the laptop screen as a monitor via HDMI. Has anyone been able to do this and if so how?

Not sure if its possible because, the HDMI on laptop are usually for output only and will not support input.

I'm not aware of any laptops that input HDMI, only output. Why not just transfer the video file and play it on the laptop? It doesn't take long.

I have to use the camera to trim and split some of the files because I have not found a good program for this. I guess I can just use the TV (non digital, which sucks).
