O.K. You guys won't beleive this. About 5 weeks ago I bought a TV, receiver, 2 sets of in wall speakers, a sub and paid somebody to install it all. I'm very happy.

Last week we saw a house in our neighborhood and the deal was too good to miss.

So now I have to do it all over again. I need some feedback on the room layout for 5.1.

We are going to remove the brick, keep the fireplace and have a slightly lower mantle (by about 2 bricks down).

1. Will it be "safe" to mount my almost new 52" Sony LCD above the gas fireplace?

2. Existing HTD Level 2 Sub will go into a recess on the right (once I remove the bottom cabinet).

3. Existing HTD Flat Panel center below T.V.

4. New rear speakers will be in wall from HTD

4. Fronts - here's the tricky one. I'm thinking of removing the shelves to make room for an in wall speaker. Question, if I mount an in-wall on each side will Audyssey "make up" for the depth distance between the 2 walls?

I have 2 months or so to ponder this one.

Thanks guys.

Paul:)

Question, if I mount an in-wall on each side will Audyssey "make up" for the depth distance between the 2 walls?Audyssey can calibrate distance and levels to compensate for your right speaker being further away than your left speaker, but I doubt it can equalize to "make up" for the effect of left speaker being inside a wall recess.
