Hi Guys, I don't know much about lcd/plasma tv and I know some of you here know what to look for and what is the best. I am thinking of buying panasonic G10 or G15 50" model but when looking side by side at the tvs on display I noticed that G10/G15s have kinda tinted screen look to it. What I mean is that white looks dirty compared to other tvs on display. And entire image is dimmer. Also programs on pannies looks like picture has been shot with a "film camera" instead of camcorder which gives you kind of crisp pop out image. I don't know if that is good thing or not. Does anybody know if that is a setting on tv or the way tv works. Should I maybe go for different brand name or lcd?
Thanks for your time and advice.
LCDs are brighter and have more "pop" in a well-lit showroom, but IMO plasma has the better picture at home, especially in the dark. LCDs also have poor side-angle viewing, motion blur, and worse black leves than plasmas. But in the end, it all depends on what you like, not what others like.
Unless you watch tv with the sun on your back, in a very very bright environment, you will never watch lcd at its brightest, which is what it looks like in the stores. I have a Panasonic 42" G10 and its standard, which if you check the owners thread, everyone comments on how dark it is. In my, I would say, less than normal ambient light it is plenty bright enough. Really, its my terrible SD cable which makes the white not as bright. Vivid is just plain aweful. Any HD signal, whether blu ray or Xbox 360, looks wonderful!
Take consideration for your watching environment(brightness, side angle viewing), and choose what you think looks best.

Never trust the picture on display in the store. Grab the remote or use the controls on the display to see wgat the display is capable of. There is no telling who has played with them.
