Hi
Wondering if anyone can help me. I just bought a Sony HDR-XR200 camcorder. I then told my son that I would give him my Sony DCR-HC32 mini dv camcorder which is only 3 years old and working beautifully. Here is my problem..I still have a lot of old family VCR tapes which I slowly was putting on DVDs using the "pass through" option on my old Sony. I didn't even think about this when I told my son he could have my old camcorder and then as I was transferring alot of my mini DV recordings to my computer so that I could clear the tapes and give him everything.. I just thought about the VCR and realized that I need a pass through..does anyone know if I can do this with this camcorder? Looking through the booklet, I see where I can record what is on my camcorder to a recorder or a DVD writer etc. It has an a/v port and instructions state that you can output to the DVD using an A/V connecting cable or with an S video with results being in SD quality. But what I need to do is input the analog VCR to my computer thru the camcorder (converting signal to DV) and then I will edit etc using Sony vegas. Just wondering if anyone knows if this can be done..I'd hate to have to tell my son he can't have the older sony camcorder (especially now where he's all excited about it) and he doesn't live at home anymore so it's not like I'd have free acess to the camcorder.
Any suggestions or advice??
Thanks
CAnn
