I currently have a Sony TRV38. I was wondering if I bought one of the new format camcorders would I still be able to record from the camera to my Panasonic DVR-E75?

Not sure exactly which format or type I would get as I have just started researching and am confused by the different types and formats.

You could. But why would you? It won't do it in High Definition. So for ease of use, you could get a Sony VRD-MC10 DVD recorder, which will take USB connection and make an AVCHD DVD, playable on a Blu-ray player - or standard DVD. But, I would get a computer made for transferring your MTS files and making an AVC Blu-ray as natively, efficiently and fast as you can. Perhaps with some basic editing software if you are interested in doing that. But otherwise you could import, and burn with minimal effort.
