Anyone have any storys of when they had a bulb burn out at the absolute worst time?

Never! - I had a Sanyo Z4 that I used for almost three years without replacing the original bulb, which had over 3000 hours. When I sold the Z4 a few weeks ago, the original bulb was still providing a nice picture. (I upgraded to a 1080P Sanyo Z3000.)

PLUS, the Z4 came with an extra bulb, that I never used.

WOW, i wish i had that much faith. I have 2 in fear that ill have some one over and right in the middle of the movie or somthing poof! nothing.

Have one that is way past 3k hrs (probably around 3800 or so)and believe it or not it's just as bright as the 400 hr bulb. Atleast to me and the wife it looks the same, brightness wise.
